Welcome to the New Nash Tackle Website

The Scope Concept

Scope started with a single idea.

When Kevin Nash looked at where carp fishing was heading, he didn't like what he saw. Sessions were getting heavier. Tackle was getting bigger. The rod, arguably the most personal piece of kit an angler owns, had become an oversized inconvenience.

So he built the alternative. The retractable butt let a full length 9 or 10ft blank pack down small. Small enough to take on public transport, drop in the boot of a car, strap to a motorbike or stow in a boat. Small enough to move through a city without drawing a second glance, and reach water that other anglers walk past.

Around the rod grew a complete system. Luggage, carp care, and accessories built to match. All of it focused on doing more with less.

A decade on, Scope is the choice of anglers who fish to catch, not to set up camp. Wherever there's an opportunity worth chasing, Scope is the kit that gets you there.

Over A Decade of Rethinking the Rod

2012

Born Different

Kevin Nash drew a line through convention. The original Scope launched with a retractable butt section no one had seen on a carp rod before - cutting pack-down to just 44 inches for the 9ft model and 50 inches for the 10ft. Ultra-light SS304 rings, two lengths, one idea: fish anywhere, carry everything. Anglers who dismissed it as a stalking tool quickly changed their minds when Terry Edmonds cast a lead over 170 yards.

2014

Power Without Compromise

Anglers were casting Scopes farther than anyone expected - and onto bigger venues. Nash responded with the 3.5lb and 4.5lb TC models, built for big pits, reservoirs, and extreme rivers. Leads up to 5oz, solid PVA bags, method feeders: all suddenly within Scope range. Black reel fittings, overfit joints, SS04 ringing, and Japanese shrink-wrap handles completed the package. The concept had grown up.

2017

A Rod for Every Angler

The range opened up. Cork handles arrived alongside the original shrink-wrap finish. Test curves expanded from a delicate 1lb all the way to 3.5lb stepped-up models, and the 6ft Sawn Off made more angling situations accessible than ever, while pushing the pack-down concept even further. With 1K carbon blend blanks now underpinning the range and Seaguide TDG Minima ringing fitted as standard, no matter who you were or where you fished, there was a Scope for it.

BlackOps

The Best Scope Ever Made

A blend of 24 and 30 tonne carbon reinforced with a cross-wrap and 1K weave. Alps ARD matte black reel fittings with knurled twin locking collars. Pacific Bay Minima guides from a 50mm butt ring to an anti-frap tournament tip. Carbon line clips and carbon backstops to eliminate rod creep. The Black Ops was Nash's statement of intent - proof that a short rod could be the most premium rod in the bag.

2025

Scope for Everyone

In 2025, Nash rationalised the family. The Dwarf - the compact rod that introduced thousands of anglers to the concept was reborn as the new Scope. And the Scope itself stepped up, becoming Scope OPS. A cleaner range, a clearer story. More anglers in, the same Scope performance throughout.
