A lesson in Bankside Grub with Simon Stobie

Our resident bankside Chef is back with the latest instalment of his popular Bankside Grub Feature , this month creating the ultimate B.L.T sandwich . Read on to find out exactly how he does this :

 Equipment used:

Primus eta powerstove

Primus li-tec frying pan

Chopping board

Small knife
 

Ingredients:

Bacon

Baguette (french stick)

Lettuce

Tomato

Butter

Mayonaise

Oil

Salt and Pepper
 

Method:

·         Cut open baguette, butter one side and mayonaise the other

·         Slice tomato and break off three or four leaves of lettuce

·         Place lettuce on buttered side of baguette then place the sliced tomato on top

·         Add salt and pepper

·         Small amount of cooking oil in frying pan and add two or three rashes of bacon, fry to required taste

·         Add to baguette.

·         As an alternative, you can use chicken strips in place of the bacon or combine the two
