The name Kevin Nash has been synonymous with some of Carp fishing’s most innovative tackle items through the years and Nash Tackle has always managed to bring some great new products to the marker across a vast range from rods, bivvies, bedchairs, and now their recently revamped and totally reworked terminal range.

I have been fortunate to get my hands on the latest all new Teflon-coated hooks in the range, and I have to say that they are absolutely awesome! The first thing you will notice is the revamped packaging, which makes the product look as good as it functions, and even without taking them out of the packet they look surgically sharp and then some! The next thing you will notice is that the new coating is a darker grey then many other manufacturers’ Teflon finishes and that will improve the camouflage characteristics straight away, as well as adding to the longevity of the hooks penetration qualities. The hooks are also separated from each other by being fitted to a plastic insert inside and this helps protect their points from potential damage, something we as anglers are keen to avoid. On close inspection, the finish on the hooks is impeccable, and the eye closure had been well executed, something which is not always attended to in the meticulous manner that it should be. The points themselves are sticky sharp, and should come with a damage waiver for the angler because they really will penetrate the skin if you are careless. Initially, the legendary Fang X has been presented in the new Teflon livery, alongside the Fang Uni and Gaper, and never being a company to rest on their laurels, no doubt there will be some new additions to the range in the near future.
Having banked a few carp on these hooks already, and after some extensive pulling under load, I can thoroughly recommend these for your armoury, but they aren’t cheap! To be fair, when you want the performance of a Formula One car, you are not going to get it for Ford Focus money, so whilst they appear to be expensive initially at £4.99, what price do you put on landing the fish of a lifetime, and for having that peace of mind that the hook won’t let you down?
